Whole Black Gram

Serve- 10 people


                                                         Ingredients:-   

                                   Water :-    6 and 1/2 Cups
 Whole black Gram (washed) :-    1 and 1/4 Cups
                         Kidney beans:-    1/4 Cups (soaked in water for 1 hour and drained)
                  Tomatoes(200gms.):-  2 Medium (blanched and chopped)
                         Ginger(5gms.):-    Cut into thin strips
                      Garlic (6 flakes):-    Chopped
                   Green  Chillies (4):-    Chopped
Whole dry red chillies(kashmiri):-   2
                                          Salt:-   4 and 1/2 tsp
                    Red  chilli  powder:-   1/2 tsp
                                        Ghee:-   1 tsp

                                                                      Tempering

                                Ghee :-   2 tsp
                 Onion(chopped):-  1 small 
                Ginger (chopped):- 5gms
                Red chilli powder:-  1/2 tsp

                                                     Methods:- 


(1) Pour water into cooker. bring to boil on high heat. add black gram and all other Ingredients. except those for tempering, stir once
(2) Close cooker , bring to full pressure on high heat, after some time reduce heat cook for some times
(3) Open cooker and partially mash dal with back of ladle
(4) Place the cooker with dal on low heat . simmer to obtain a creamy consistency, strirring occasionally
(5) For tempering, heat ghee in a pan . add onion and fry till transparent, add ginger and continue frying till onion is golden brown.  Remove pan from heat, add chilli powder and pour evenly over dal.
